weekend update
Today was my first holiday at my new job. i should have slept in-- all weekend, but my mom served as my first out of town guest. i got to show off my new town. I went to museum after museum and shop after shop (yes, including IKEA) and the national memorial day concert. I tried new restaurants, including burmemse food in china town (apparently, nothing in china town here is actually chinese-- but the starbucks and dunkin' donuts have signs in chinese).i'm exhausted. Tomorrow, back to the grind. and-- the rest of the week i am embarking on an new adventure -- i decided to get a second job-- and although i signed up for 12-15 hours a week, i am signed up for 28 next week-- it's not a great way to start a new job complaining about the hours-- but if they can't accomodate reasonable hours, then i don't want this job anyways. hopefully, i can stay long enough to enjoy my employee discount-- as my main reason to get this job is to support my habits.
so i need to go to bed... have a good night all.

Second jobs are fine if they are part time, I guess? As long as you don't end up burnt like an old candle, and get enough rest. More work does hold a promise of greater financial stability. Speaking as one who has enjoyed an employee shopping discount in the past, the trick is really to avoid spending too much on all the lovely stuff!
